Higher-year students – Accommodation
Application for accommodation
Information on how to book dormitory accommodation for the academic year 2024/2025 can be found in Schedule of Student Accommodation in Dormitories for the Academic Year 2024-2025 13R/2024 published in the "Documents" section. An overview of the application deadlines for accommodation for the next academic year.
Higher-year students must apply for accommodation each year.
Please follow the deadlines and instructions in the schedule!
Simplified:
- Submission of applications in ISKAM from 2 to 21 April 2024 (Those who have already paid the reservation or accommodation deposit do not pay the deposit again.)
- Whether the request was granted: 25.4.2024 (in ISKAM)
- granted = student can book a bed and sign a contract
- undecided = accommodation not provided (deposit not paid, debt to UWB or no accommodation available)
- denied = accommodation was not provided either due to insufficient dormitory capacity, short commuting distance from the student’s place of residence or failure to pay the accommodation deposit.
- Reservation of a specific bed and signing the contract: 2.-19.5.2024
The text of the Student Accommodation Schedule was sent to currently accommodated students by email.
A new application for accommodation must be submitted for each subsequent academic year (the deadline for higher-year students is usually in April). The deposit remains in ISKAM for the next academic year.
Manual for international students
Manual for international students – procedure for accommodation requests
International students admitted to study full study programmes at UWB can send a request for a proof of accommodation for the purpose of applying for a long-term visa/permit for long-term stay to Ms Jana Jánská Lonská, International Office.
Termination of accommodation
Termination of accommodation in University dormitories is governed by the accommodation agreement.
The process of termination of accommodation (handover of the bed, room):
- The student will report to the dorm manager to check the status of payments on his/her JIS account (whether he/she owes the dorm fees, contractual penalty, laundry or other services).
- The student receives a bed handover form, which is confirmed by an authorized SKM employee (usually a cleaning lady), based on a room inspection (cleaning, undamaged equipment, etc.) and the return of bed linen.
- The confirmed form and room key will be returned to the reception (doorman’s office) upon departure.
- Check-out takes place in the morning on weekdays. If the student plans to leave on a Saturday or Sunday, he/she will check out on the Friday and return the room key to the reception at the weekend.
- Foreign students who do not have a Czech bank account will receive, after prior arrangement with the dorm manager, the accommodation deposit in cash at the reception.
- Requests for refund of JIS card balance (JUK account) and refund of deposit
(if the student does not continue to stay at the dormitory in the following academic year) are submitted electronically in ISKAM (Accommodation and Catering).
